The ONLINE Cardiac CTA LEVEL II COURSE By Wilke, Adams, Allen et al..

This onsite Level II workshop is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of Radiologists and Cardiologists who interpret cardiovascular CT.

These intensive NINE-day training course with expert Radiology and Cardiology faculty, provide a unique opportunity to perfect your cardiovascular CT reading skills through personal hands-on training at workstations, with immediate feedback through Invasive Coronary Angiography for 150 cases. Additional 65 Live cases and 125 clinical review cases will be discussed in an interactive, real, clinical world scenario at remote online reading workstations.

The course will encompass comprehensive lectures of all aspects of cardiovascular CT principles, methodologies, and day to day clinical practice. Didactic lectures, image-based case examples, reviews of the key literature in cardiovascular CT, Q&A sessions with faculty are designed to increase the competency and performance of the physician. A minimum of 35 hours of CME are accredited through SCCT, which will qualify attendees for taking the CT Boards.

The onsite course includes an expanded number of interactive sessions that will focus on the "core" knowledge that every practitioner of cardiovascular CT is expected to know, across a wide range of topics, as determined by the examination board of the CBCCT and the ACR. Course highlights include an end-of-course exam simulates the testing environment, audience response question and answer that accompanies every lecture, and 100 case imaging review session (total of 250 cases) with an expanded question and answer format.

The course participants will receive a Level II certification per the COCATS4 guidance. The physician will be eligible to sit for the CBCCT if they opt to do so. Each attendee will benefit from:

  • Mentored workstation review and hands-on evaluation of 50 contrast cardiac CT examinations with invasive coronary angiographic correlations, accounting for 50 of the required 100 non-direct performance cases.
  • SCCT Membership
  • SCCT  Self-Assessment Program (CCTSAP) provides the remaining 50 of the 100 non-direct performance cases.
  • SCCT’s DVD Level I , “Cardiac CT Live! 25 Live Mentored Cardiac CT Cases” containing complete cases, from patient history through scanning to diagnosis. Counts towards 25 of the 65 direct performance cases.
  • In total, participants will achieve  cases required for Level 2 competency.

Learner Objectives
The overall goal of this program is to improve competency in the performance and interpretation of coronary CT Angiography.
Upon completion of the Practicum, attendees should be able to —

·     Describe the general requirements for Level 2 CT competency

·     Compare and contrast the fundamental physical and technical principles used to acquire CCT images

·     Explain the indications and contraindications for cardiac CT use

·     Discuss the requirements and techniques for interpreting CCT

·     Demonstrate competency in performing and interpreting coronary CT
